Chardonnay is one of Livermore’s most famous varieties. Cuttings from Livermore vineyards have been propagated throughout the state and are the source for most of the Chardonnay produced in California. In spite of the success of our clone, our Valley has not gained recognition for the wines we produce from them.

We have been working hard to change the perception of Livermore Chardonnay by focussing on a winemaking style optimized for our climate and soils. The work is time-consuming and often slow, but progress is being made. Over the years we have made changes to our cellar practices, changing out coopers and experimenting with the ratio of new and used barrels. The 2017 vintage, now resting in barrel, is poised to become our best Chardonnay yet.

Please join us for a guided study of the 2017 vintage. We will be tasting through barrel samples with a goal of understanding how the barrel shapes the development of the wine. In the end, you will be asked to create your favorite blend from these samples. $15 for members and their guests.
