James Beard Award winning wine writer Anthony Dias Blue gave our 2009 Occasio Petit Verdot a 90 point rating in the August issue of the Tasting Panel Magazine. Blue calls it “lush and dense with rich plum and blackberry fruit; ripe, concentrated and long with nice vanilla notes; complex and balanced.”

News just in- Wine Enthusiast Magazine has given our 2010 Angelica a 92-point rating, scheduled to be written up in the June 2012 issue of their buyers guide. This is the highest rating that Wine Enthusiast has given to an Angelica-styled wine, and the highest rating ever given to a dessert wine from Livermore Valley.

Harvest begins in earnest today, as we harvest our Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir from the Del Arroyo Vineyard. This is turning out to be the finest harvest in Livermore Valley in many years. A cool summer gave us long hang time and still preserved beautiful acidity.

We received notice today that our 2008 Petite Sirah Del Arroyo Vineyard Reserve won the gold medal at the Best of the Bay Commercial Wine Competition. This is the first time our Reserve Petite has been entered in competition, and are proud that it now joins the gold-medal winning ranks of our previous Petites.

As part of our efforts to minimize our environmental footprint while benefitting the local community, we have partnered with Cash for Glass to recycle all of our waste glass at the winery. The proceeds from the recycle effort are sent directly to the East Bay Chapter of the Habitat for Humanity.
