90 Points! 2011 Founder’s Collection Petite Sirah

90 Points! 2011 Founder’s Collection Petite Sirah, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, August 2014

In the August issue of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Virginie Boone  rated our 2011 Petite Sirah 90 points, writing, “Restrained and spicy, it offers velvety blackberry and raspberry fruit and a lingering tropical aroma, encased with a morsel of dark chocolate. With well-managed tannins, the wine begs to be set on the table…”

Of the hundreds of vintage 2011 wines reviewed, only 10 Petite Sirahs were rated 90 or higher. The year was a difficult one for crafting Petite Sirah, since the variety suffers in wet and cold conditions. And, while many wineries gave up on the vintage, we persevered, patiently drying the grapes on the vines between storms, and using labor intensive methods to craft what we believe is one of our finest wines. Thank you, Virginie, for recommending this wine for the table.
