Sidewinder Spirits Buys Alembic Still

Last week Sidewinder Spirits Company, the distilling arm of Occasio Winery, took delivery of a hand-hammered alembic copper still – nearly a century after the last alembic still in Livermore Valley was scrapped for prohibition. Crafted by one of Europe’s oldest producers, Sidewinder’s new still is destined to produce the brandies that will become an integral part of our port wines and vermouths. An aged alembic brandy also will be marketed under our Sidewinder Sprits Company Label.
