Simple Do-Ahead Dishes for Thanksgiving

Quick-Start Your Morning

Who wants to make breakfast Thanksgiving morning? Make these the night before and put them in the oven first thing – Funeral Potatoes (pictured) and Featherbed eggs.

Thanksgiving dinner offers an array of foods quite unlike any other meal. Sweet, sour, salty, fatty, and savory dishes share the same plate, making wine pairing difficult. Over the years I have shared different approaches to pairing wine with Thanksgiving – the sommelier methodand an in-the-mood method. As I grow older, I tend to favor the latter for the memories the wine brings out.
