Pinot Noir – After Hours

California’s Pinot Noir finds its most legendary expressions in the Russian River Valley, Los Carneros, Santa Lucia Highlands, and Sta. Rita Hills regions. Each of these locations possesses a unique terroir that imparts distinct characteristics to the grape, resulting in wines of exceptional quality and finesse. Together, these regions have established themselves as iconic destinations for Pinot Noir enthusiasts seeking the epitome of California winemaking excellence.

On Friday evening, August 18th, we invite you to an intimate tasting event in celebration of Pinot Noir Day. We will be tasting Pinot Noirs that we have crafted from two of California’s most iconic appellations – Russian River Valley and Los Carneros (Sonoma Coast).

In the Russian River Valley, the cool coastal fog and maritime influence create a long growing season, allowing the grapes to develop complex flavors and elegant acidity. Representing this region, we will taste a barrel sample of our 2022 Lineage Estate Pinot Noir.

Los Carneros, located at the southern tip of Napa and Sonoma, also benefits from a cool climate, producing Pinot Noir with bright red fruit flavors and a delicate structure. Representing this region, we will taste our not-yet-released 2021 Wildcat Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir.

A Note About the Vineyards

Lineage Estate
This 10-acre vineyard lies in the middle of some of the most beautiful and scenic areas of the Russian River Valley. With an east facing hillside and rich Goldridge soil, the property is perfect for Pinot Noir.

Wildcat Mountain Vineyard
Wildcat Mountain Vineyard is an outlier in the Los Carneros appellation. The highest vineyard in the appellation, it sits on well-drained soils of volcanic origin, exposed to the full brunt of fog and cold airflow that streams off the upper reaches of San Pablo Bay. Wildcat Mountain Vineyard was established by Nancy and Tony Lilly with their partner Steve MacRostie in 1998.
