Slow Cooker Mushrooms

IMG_3660

Sometimes simple recipes can be delicious; this is one of those. I am unable to find the original creator of this mushroom side-dish, but I came across several variations about the same time I discovered the story behind the Mississippi Pot Roast, which also calls for Ranch dressing. Start with the original recipe, then play with it to your heart’s content.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds of button mushrooms
  • 1 stick butter ( ½ cup)
  • 1 packet Ranch Dressing

Variation 1

To the above, add 3 cloves garlic, chopped

Variation 2

To the above, add ¼ cup of grated Romano or Parmesan cheese

Directions

Clean the mushrooms and then add them (may be left whole or sliced) to the slow cooker. Melt the butter and pour over the mushrooms. Sprinkle the packet of Ranch dressing on top and stir to coat.

Cook on low for about 3 – 5 hours. Enjoy!
